Semi Calibrated Tubes and Profiles

Moores Glassworks manufactures various shapes of semi-calibrated tubes and profiles in most types of glasses (borosilicate glasses, soda glass, lead glass and electronic glasses). They are used both in industrial and decorative applications. Custom made products are available starting from 10 metres. Specialized drawing towers allow mass production of thousands of metres.

The semi-calibrted tube has a better accuracy than standard tubes on the outside or inside diameter, but is not as accurate as a calibrated tube (under vacuum). The main advantage is the price as the precision of the calibrated tube is not required.

Aside the precision, another possibility is to produce small quantities of non standard dimensions (diameters or wall thickness).

Profiles can be triangular, square, rectangular, hexagonal or oval.

Standard length is 1000mm but tubes and profiles can be supplied cut at any length from 5 to 1500mm.

We manufacture our precision bore tubing with optimal precision by heating glass tubes and vacuum heat shrinking them onto precision mandrels.
